STANWAY ROVERS suffered a blow in their quest for promotion this afternoon after slipping to a 2-1 defeat at home to Felixstowe & Walton.
The setback came hot on the heels of Tuesday’s 3-1 defeat against Hadleigh United.
Jemal Fox was on target for Angelo Harrop’s side.
Stanway are now fourth in the Thurlow Nunn League premier division – three points behind second-placed Godmanchester Rovers, who defeated WIVENHOE TOWN 3-0.
The Dragons remain fourth from bottom, six points above FC CLACTON, who were pipped 1-0 at home to Hadleigh.
BRANTHAM ATHLETIC had the result of the day, in terms of Gazette teams.
Paul Skingley’s side won 3-1 at Fakenham Town, thanks to two goals from Ollie Mann and one from Shaun Webb.
It was their first double of the season and extended their unbeaten run to five games.
In division one, HALSTEAD TOWN drew 1-1 at home to Team Bury, while BRAINTREE TOWN RESERVES won 3-2 at AFC Sudbury.
