Women looking to get into football will have a chance at new turn-up-and-play sessions being held at Colchester United’s Weston Homes Community Stadium.
The friendly kickabouts and small-sided games start every second Tuesday, starting from January 20, and are for women aged 16 and older.
A qualified U’s coach will run the hour-long sessions which will take place on the five-a-side pitches at the stadium between 8pm and 9pm until the end of April.
Essex County FA football development officer Lana Gillard said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for ladies to get together, meet new people and discover the game in a relaxed environment. It might also be the place for women to get back into the game.”
The eight sessions cost £24. Call 01206 755160 to book a place or complete the form available at www.essexfa.com and the return it to ryan.hull@colchesterunited.net.
