Jabo Ibehre has given Colchester United a major boost by agreeing to stay at the club.

The experienced striker was out of contract this summer, after his short-term deal at the U's expired at the end of last season.

But Ibehre has now penned a new two-year contract with Colchester to remain with them next season.

The 30-year-old, who scored eight goals in 31 league and cup appearances for Colchester last season, was one of manager Joe Dunne's top transfer priorities this summer.
