POLICE have warned people that anyone attending a planned rave in Highwoods would be breaching coronavirus guidelines.
Posts on social media have been advertising the party for an upcoming Friday.
A spokesman for Essex Police warned anyone attending would be putting themselves at risk.
He said: "It has come to our attention that there are adverts being posted on social media that suggest there will be an outdoor event being described as a rave being held at Highwoods, on a Friday soon.
"Essex Police would like to remind everyone this event is not authorised by the landowner and would likely breach current Covid-19 regulations."
He added: "If you’re planning to go to an illegal rave or unlicensed event, please think again.
"We appreciate the urge to want to enjoy yourself now Government guidance has changed but these events are unlawful and pose a risk to your health and that of your friends and family.
"You could also be targeted by criminals who go to these events."
