Colchester Castle is gearing up to host its annual open evening.
The museum will throw open its doors for free on Wednesday December 11 from 3pm to 8.30pm.
Visitors will be able to enjoy the castle and the exhibition Adorn: Jewellery, The Human Story.
Julie Young, Colchester Council's cultural boss, said: “Christmas at the Castle is a wonderful time of year.
"With all the sights and scents of festive season, the castle takes on a new life and is a fabulous place to visit with family.
"The open evening is the perfect time to begin your yuletide celebrations and the team and I look forward to welcoming you and your family to this wonderful evening.”
Visitors can park for free in any council owned town centre car park after 3pm on Wednesday.
