TWO new life-saving defibrillators have been fitted in Colchester.
Colchester Community First Responders fitted the defibrillators at The Cannons care home off Layer Road and the Cherry Tree sheltered accommodation scheme off Sexton Close.
The machines can be used to restart a heart which has suffered a cardiac arrest.
Colchester councillor Dave Harris went along to support the first responders, including Martin Ford.
He said: “For me, it was humbling to see Martin Ford doing good for my community. Martin has been working with Colchester Borough Homes who funded the defibrillators and Martin fitted them.
“It means the community has a life-saving and essential facility.”
“Heart problems can affect people of all ages, from all walks of life, in any community.”
