A WOMAN who drove to a police station with a broken foot has now been banned from the roads.
Brina Smith drove the 1.5miles from her home in Braithwaite Drive, Colchester, in Mile End to Colchester Police Station in June to attend a voluntary police interview.
Officers noticed her foot was strapped up in a brace and asked her how she got there. She told them she drove her Ford Street KA despite the obvious impairment.
She also said he had driven the day before with children in the car.
The 37-year-old was convicted of driving without due care and attention in August and was due at Colchester Magistrates' Court again to contest a driving ban but failed to appear.
The case continued in her absence with magistrates adding six penalty points. Smith already had six points for insurance matters leaving her with 12 and a mandatory six month roads ban.
She must also pay a £660 fine, £66 victim surcharge and £90 costs.
