A MAN was slashed with a blade after refusing to hand over money.
Essex Police are appealing for information after a 22-year-old man was approached near Waterstones, in High Street, Colchester.
When a man, aged in his 20s, asked for money, the victim refused.
The attacker followed the man to Culver Street West, where he slashed him with a blade.
The victim was taken to hospital for treatment.
An Essex Police spokesman said the injury is not believed to be serious.
"Officers carried out a search for the suspect and enquiries are ongoing," he said.
"He was described as being white, aged in his 20s, 5ft 9ins tall, stubble. He wore black trousers and a plain grey hoody."
The attack happened at 1.50am on Sunday, August 12.
