A COLCHESTER United fan was injured as spectators made their way home from a football match.
Police in High Wycombe are investigating how the supporter was injured following the match between Wycombe Wanderers and Colchester United on Saturday.
Away fans were escorted away from the ground by police horse units after the U's were beaten 3-1.
Witnesses saw a man receiving medical treatment near the Chiltern Taps pub.
The South Central Ambulance Service attended.
A spokesman said: “We were called by Thames Valley Police at 6.25pm to attend a medical emergency at the Chiltern Taps on Oxford Road, High Wycombe.
“We sent a community first responder, an ambulance and a paramedic team leader in a rapid response vehicle to the scene and after initial treatment, the patient was then taken to Wexham Park Hospital.”
