VOLUNTEERS ventured into the vines when they took part in an annual grape harvest.
The event at Dedham Vale Vineyard in Boxted on Sunday was attended by 35 volunteers who tirelessly picked the Bacchus variety.
After all their hard work, they were treated to harvest lunch with wine or grape juice and a bottle to take home for themselves.
Tom Bunting, vineyard managing director, said: "It was a great turn out of volunteers for the start of the 2015 harvest. We are really pleased they have managed to pick over four tonnes of Bacchus which should be ready for Bacchus wine by the end of March or beginning of April next year."
The event has been held annually at the vineyard since the mid 1990s.
