A WOMAN has been airlifted to hospital following a serious collision on the A120.
The road was closed for several hours after a Volkswagen Golf was crushed between a skip lorry and another lorry.
Five vehicles were involved.
The crash happened opposite the Kings Arms pub in Little Tey on the A120, shortly after 7.30am yesterday.
Miraculously the female Volkswagen driver may have escaped any life-threatening or life-changing injuries.
Scans were carried out at Whitechapel specialist hospital in London.
A Colchester Skip Hire lorry smashed into the back of the Golf, a lorry and two vehicles in front of the lorry.
A 51-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, causing a serious injury collision and on suspicion of being under the influence of drink or drugs.
He has been released on bail while police continue to investigated.
The road was reopened at 1.30pm yesterday.
