A MAN dumped £200 of wasted frozen food in a Colchester store after getting fed up with the company’s customer service.
Kevin Cook shelled out £749 for his dream American-style Daewoo fridge freezer, which he bought from electrical giant Currys’ website.
But when it arrived, he said its door was badly dented and the ice-maker was damaged.
He initially agreed to have a repair carried out because the fridge was so big it would be difficult to get it out of his kitchen and have a new one fitted.
But when engineers cancelled appointments three times, he demanded a replacement.
However, when it arrived he said it was more damaged than the first, so he refused to accept it.
Despite a promise to repair the initial fridge within the next 48 hours, nothing had been done after more than three weeks.
Mr Cook eventually asked for a full refund, which the company agreed to.
Couriers wasted no time in picking up the damaged fridge, but bosses have told him he has to wait a week for a refund, leaving him with nowhere to put his freezer full of food and no money to buy a new fridge.
