Amelia Dimoldenberg has announced the end of her long-running comedy series Chicken Shop Date.
The comedian and creator confirmed the news on Instagram today (Thursday, September 3), marking the end of a show that launched her career and became a viral hit.
Chicken Shop Date, which began more than 12 years ago, featured Dimoldenberg interviewing celebrities in fried chicken shops across London.
The show featured more than 100 episodes and stars including Paul McCartney, Ed Sheeran, Cher, Jennifer Lawrence, and Andrew Garfield.
Fans praised Dimoldenberg’s deadpan humour and distinctive interviewing style, helping the series attract hundreds of millions of views on sites like YouTube.
"It’s now time to move on from this adventure"
Sharing the news of her decision on Instagram, Dimoldenberg said: "When I was 17 I had a fantastic idea that I might meet the love of my life on a date in a chicken shop.
"I’ve spent my entire twenties sitting across from the most incredible people, people I’d always dreamt of meeting.
"All of them charmed me (some more than others) and I definitely charmed them.
"To me the show is my very own romcom and I have loved creating so many stories for you to watch.
"I am so grateful to everyone who has followed me on this journey and found some joy in these episodes.
"I never thought I’d stop Chicken Shop Date, I thought maybe it would be a part of me forever, and in some way it always will, but I feel like it’s now time to move on from this adventure and onto a new one.
"But before I say goodbye forever, I want to celebrate everything Chicken Shop Date has been for me with a few final dates…coming very soon."
Outside of Chicken Shop Date, Dimoldenberg has been the official red carpet correspondent for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, presenting the Oscars red carpet for three successive years.

She has also presented shows for Channel 4 and ITV, and made a cameo as herself in The Devil Wears Prada 2.
Last month, while speaking at the Edinburgh TV Festival, Dimoldenberg revealed that she is developing a teen drama series for the BBC.
She teased that it would be her “version of Skins” - the popular Channel 4 show that aired between 2007 and 2013.
