EastEnders legend Jane Beale is to make a return to Albert Square seven years after leaving the soap opera.

Viewers are now convinced that actress Laurie Brett will reprise her role as Ian Beale's ex-partner after details of an upcoming special episode were released.

Later this month, a 58-minute episode of the BBC programme will air as the showrunners mark the murder of Lucy Beale in 2014.

The episode, which will air on April 17, will mark 10 years since the shocking killing of Lucy by her younger brother Bobby.

EastEnders fans convinced Jane Beale will make show comeback after 7 years

Bobby's stepmother Jane Beale covered up Lucy's murder for almost a year, going as far as to move her body to the woods.

Despite the family later finding out, it wasn't for another year until Bobby confessed to his crime and was sent to a youth detention centre.

The news of an hour-long EastEnders episode has convinced fans of the BBC show that Jane will return to the show and something special is planned.

This would be the first time she has appeared on the soap since 2017 when she had a run-in with Max Branning who was looking for revenge after being framed for Lucy's murder.
