A "beluga whale" has reportedly been caught on camera swimming near to Coalhouse Fort, in Thurrock.

Wildlife photographer Dave Andrews has shared a video and several live videos on social media.

They show a white, whale-shaped animal swimming in the sea.

Mr Andrews claims it is a beluga, although this has not been confirmed.

The RSPCA has said it is investigating the incident.

The charity says it is "sending an officer" to look further into the matter as videos and reports circulate on social media.
