Latest figures show that the infection rate across the Maldon District is beginning to drop.
Data from Public Health England shows that the infection rate across the district stands at 882.5.
It also shows that 573 cases have been recorded in the seven days leading up to January 6.
The worst affected area is now Heybridge, where the infection rate is 1,286.9 and 110 cases have been recorded.
The lowest infection rate is in Mayland, Althorne & Cold Norton at 618.7 and 66 cases in the seven days leading up to January 6.
