I’m sure that we are all looking forward to having more shops re-opening from December 2.
For me I really must visit the wonderful Maeldune Centre at the top of Market Hill. I never miss a chance to enter through their portals. At the moment George Kowzan’s exhibition of his artworks is a ‘must see’ - inspirational and original in concept and execution.
What is more there will be a great collection of Christmas gifts made by local artists in many and varied media, together with the permanent collection of gifts and cards.
The centre always displays exhibitions of art - paintings; ceramics; textiles; photographs.
Added to all of this, school children come for talks given by the knowledgeable, enthusiastic guides who take them through the Battle of Maldon.
We are so very fortunate to have this centre run by welcoming staff.
The seven panels of embroidery designed by Humphrey Spender is certainly a joy to behold and every time I look at it I find something I hadn’t noticed on previous visits. The centre is a great asset to Maldon.
