Road surface and bridge waterproofing improvements are set to start on Market Hill and Fullbridge, in Maldon.

The work is designed to waterproof the bridge deck at Fullbridge to preserve the life of the structure.

Highways have been able to fast-track the plans and combine works due to the lower traffic-flows during coronavirus.

Work is due to start on Monday and is being phased over two weeks to keep traffic disruption to a minimum.

It will involve overnight closures with the road reopening at 5am.

To support the bridge waterproofing works at Fullbridge, the route will also be closed during the day on June 11 and 12, as the waterproofing process can only be done traffic-free.

Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout.

A limited number of road closures will also be needed on High Street, including the first night of works 8 June.

This will also include Fullbridge Road up to A414/Fullbridge/Causeway roundabout.

Drivers are advised to allow extra travelling time.
