MORE roadworks are set to go ahead in Mundon this month.

Work is due to start at Mundon Wash Bridge from next Monday and is expected to take four weeks to complete.

Repair works will take place on Mundon Road and be managed by temporary traffic lights.

This will include the closure of Blind Lane from Monday, April 13.

For the first week, the road will be closed 24 hours a day with no through traffic.

A spokesman said: “Following completion of the outstanding works to Mundon Wash Bridge, road patching activities are planned to repair identified defects on Blind Lane in Mundon.”

During the second week, Essex Highways are hoping to limit closures to daytime hours to help businesses on the road.

The spokesman added: “Access to properties on Blind Lane during closure periods will continue to be maintained either from Fambridge Road or Mundon Road, depending on the location of the repairs.

“Advance signage will be in place to advertise the road closure with appropriate diversions in place.

“We are contacting businesses on Blind Lane separately to advise them of our plans and to minimise disruption as much as reasonably practicable.

“Please note that the work programme may be subject to change if the works are affected by poor weather or if unexpected issues arise.”

He added: “We appreciate that these works may cause temporary inconvenience, and would like to apologise for this.”
