A CHARITY is appealing for more volunteers so it can stay open for longer.

The Helen Rollason Cancer Charity’s two shops in Burnham high street are only open for a limited number of hours due to staff shortages.

Avril Kent, who has been the manager for more than five years, said: “We have been struggling to recruit volunteers for our Burnham shops for a while now.

“These shops are the absolute lifeblood of the charity and we know there’s still a desire for the shops because of how busy they are and the amount of donations we receive from the public.

“If you can spare a few hours, have a good sense of humour and enjoy meeting new people, we would love to have your help with volunteering in our Burnham charity shops.”

In total, the charity has five charity shops across Essex, Hertfordshire and east London.

Helen Rollason Cancer Charity is dedicated to supporting people whose lives are affected by cancer.
