A CLUB boss has been found guilty of breaking a string of enforcement notices.

John Wilsdon, owner of Club Nautico, which is based on a barge at Althorne’s Bridgemarsh Marina, was prosecuted by Maldon District Council at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court.

He was found guilty of failing to comply with a breach of condition notice and an enforcement order in relation to the club.

He was also found guilty of failing to comply with an enforcement notice regarding land east of Bridgemarsh Marina.

Council resources boss Bryan Harker said: “The council has a duty to ensure that the correct planning permission is obtained in all cases.

“Where a breach does occur, we will fully investigate and seek a resolution through the courts when absolutely necessary.”

Sentencing will be carried out by Chelmsford Crown Court and has been adjourned to June 11, 2020.
