RAIL operator Greater Anglia’s decision to slash ticket office opening times at some of its stations has been slammed by passenger groups.

The company cites low ticket sales on weekday afternoons as a factor.

However, does that mean they need to be so quick in cutting the service entirely?

Much like automated tills at supermarkets, while it may be convenient for some, it can be a hassle for others who just want to deal face to face with an actual person.

In a time where we are all being encouraged to use public transport in a bid to be more eco-friendly, surely reasonable levels of service should be maintained.
