A PUB landlord topped off a milestone achievement with an award for his service.
Peter Fenn celebrated his 20th anniversary as licensee of the Fox and Hounds in Tillingham and the Maldon and Dengie branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (Camra) decided to mark the occasion with a special long service award.
Branch chairman Chris Harvey came down to the pub and presented the award.
Mr Harvey said: “In this day and age, when publicans come and go so quickly, 20 years is a real achievement.
“It is always a pleasure to visit this historic village pub owned by Gray and Sons.
“It has a friendly atmosphere, well-kept beer and excellent Thai food.
“This award for long service is richly deserved.
“Peter has ensured that the Fox and Hounds plays a full part in the social life of Tillingham.”
Peter added: “It is great to have my years in the pub recognised in this way.
“My regulars and I have been able to get to know each other over the years.
“I like to run the pub as an important meeting place for the villagers.”
