PLANS to convert a church hall into two-bedroom homes have been put forward.

A planning application to convert the Methodist Church Hall, in Garland Road, Parkeston, into four two-bedroom dwellings has been submitted to Tendring Council.

The proposal is to preserve the church area as a community resource and to convert the hall, office and the kitchen area into four self-contain residential units.

The location is a short drive into both Harwich and Colchester.

The train stations at Harwich and Dovercourt are close by, which has a railway connection to Colchester and Liverpool Street, London.

From the proposed site, the A120 and direct access via the A12 into London or into the heartland of England via the A14 is also close by.

The building has been empty for many years and following an illegal occupation it has been sold at auction, but there is very little previous planning information online.
