A FAST food restaurant has donated £1,000 to police cadets in a bid to support them throughout the rest of the year.
Craig Newnes, franchisee of nine McDonald’s restaurants in the area, donated the money to Harwich police cadets outside Dovercourt McDonald’s last Friday.
Harwich volunteer police cadet leader PC Kirsty Lucas said she was absolutely thrilled that McDonald’s in Dovercourt is continuing to support the group.
A total of £500 was donated by McDonald’s to the cadet group last year.
PC Lucas said: “The Cadet unit is growing and developing in the Harwich community.
“It is very exciting that we will continue to work together and hopefully achieve great things in the local community of Harwich.
“As a cadet unit we feel extremely lucky to have this opportunity and look forward to seeing what opportunities develop through this partnership working.”
