PEOPLE have been invited to lend a helping hand to plant 300 wildflowers at a park in Dovercourt.
Tendring Council has launched an appeal for volunteers to plant 300 wildflowers in an area of Cliff Park tomorrow.
The aim is to attract more insects and butterflies, which would improve biodiversity in the area.
Cliff Park has held Green Flag status for numerous years and community involvement through events such as these are an important part of achieving the prestigious award.
Michael Talbot, Tendring Council’s cabinet member for environment, said the wildflowers would be a beautiful addition to Cliff Park.
“Not only will these flowers further brighten up an already vibrant park area, but they will play an important role in helping nature to flourish,” Mr Talbot said.
Planting will begin at 10am and volunteers are advised to wear appropriate clothing and footwear.
Tools and refreshments will be provided.
