ORGANISERS have announced the closure of a number of roads to allow runners to take part in the Mayflower 400 Harwich half marathon, which is returning after a 29-year break.
The event is taking place on Sunday, April 5 and roads which will be closed include Low Road, Gravel Hill Way, Abbott Road, Wick Lane, Lower Marine Parade, Marine Parade and Barrack Lane in Dovercourt. Harbour Crescent, Main Road, West Street, the quay and the Kings Quay Street in Harwich will also be closed.
A spokesman for the Harwich Half Marathon said organisers are grateful for the support of the community and hope the advance notice will help with planning around the road closures.
“We appreciate your understanding with any inconvenience you experience due to these restrictions,” he added.
