DOZENS of restaurants and cafes in the Halstead area are lining up to take part in a new scheme to help the hospitality industry.

The new 'Eat Out to Help Out' initiative from the Government will see customers get a major discount off the cost of their dinner.

Diners can get up to 50 per cent off on Mondays and Wednesdays in August.

The initiative will cover meals up to £10 per head and there is no minimum spending limit.

The new scheme aims to help the hospitality industry, which has been struggling since the lockdown.

However, now the lockdown is easing, the Government are trying to get more people to eat out.

Customers won't need to have a pass or voucher to take advantage and you can use it at the same time as other offers and discounts.
