A SECONDARY school in Halstead is set for an upgrade after receiving a £50,000 grant.
The Ramsey Academy is looking to convert a staff room into a brand new science lab.
The plan comes after the school received a major grant from the Wolfson Foundation.
The cash is part of a massive £18.5 million funding round.
Headteacher Rob James said: “We are delighted to announce the Wolfson Foundation approved our project submission to convert a staff room and work room into a much needed additional science laboratory.
“We’d like to thank the foundation for the grant of £50,000.
“This means as the Ramsey Academy continues to grow in student numbers and popularity, all our science lessons can be taught in specialist facilities.
“We hope the new laboratory will be completed in time for the return to school in September’.
