A SCHOOLGIRL has been raising money for the NHS in a bid to support staff during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Lacey Mai White, aged eight, has been raising cash by selling handcrafted jewellery.
Lacey, from Halstead, decided she wanted to do her part and has been selling homemade bracelets.
Each bracelet costs £1 and they all have ‘NHS’ inscribed on to them,
Lacey was inspired to make a difference when she saw the hard work being put in by Lauren Dicker – the sister of her dad’s girlfriend – who is an essential worker at Broomfield Hospital.
Lauren said: “My sister’s boyfriend’s little girl has started making bracelets and donating all the money to the NHS.
“I work for the NHS so she is also doing it for that reason.
“It’s an amazing thing to do at such a young age.
“There isn’t a website, but people have been contacting me through Facebook as I’ve posted it on the street watch page.
“She was inspired by someone else doing the same thing and wanted to make a difference.”
Lauren added: “I work for the NHS at Broomfield Hospital and she had heard me talking about someone else making keyrings.
“We haven’t got the total amount she has raised yet, but many people have given more than £1.”
