AN open art exhibition and competition is taking place in Gosfield.

Gosfield Gallery is hosting its seventh Winter Open Exhibition throughout January.

Artists were invited in December to submit two of their works to the gallery, which is at Gosfield Shopping Village on Petersfield Lane.

The gallery is currently open to members of the public and the venue is asking those who attend to vote for their favourite pieces of artwork on display.

The chance for gallery-goers to vote for the best artwork closes on January 25.

The artist whose work gets the most votes will win their own solo exhibition at the gallery in February.

Shopping village directors Glenn and Beata Pisarska-Piesse said: “The standard of entries is very high again this year and we anticipate that the voting will be close.

“Last year we had a tie with two paintings receiving identical first, second and third votes.

“We host a new exhibition every month featuring the work of a local artist.

“The Winter Open Exhibition has been running since January 2014.

“There is a full programme of exhibitions scheduled for 2020 already.”
