Many Colchester bus passengers will soon have to endure even longer diversions than expected, according to a transport watchdog.
The temporary main bus station opens at the end of this month paving the way for work to begin on the Visual Arts Facility (Vaf).
Several important services will endure lengthy diversions because of the closure of the exit to East Hill, bus users' pressure group C-Bus claims.
Elizabeth Blundell, Colchester Council's portfolio holder for planning and strategic transportation, said: "Once buses have left the bus station it's up to the operators how they run their routes."
