LIFEBOAT crews were called into action after fears were raised for a person in the water near Jaywick.
Clacton RNLI’s D Class inshore lifeboat was tasked to find the person at 9pm on Tuesday, June 30.
A spokesman said: “Our crew made their way to the location, but the casualty had already made their way back to shore.”
The person was left in the care of Essex Police officers and the lifeboat returned to its station by 9.30pm.
