A stolen car was recovered and a man was arrested in connection with a burglary.
The blue Peugeot 3008 was stolen from Bedford Close, Braintree, at 3.25am this morning.
It was seen driving off down Marlborough Road and was stopped by the Essex Police Force Support Unit 30 minutes later in Brentwood.
The driver, a 21-year-old man from Woolwich in London, was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and burglary. He remains in custody for questioning.
Officers are continuing to carry out enquiries today and it is believed the suspects would have arrived in the area by car.
