CARE home bosses are celebrating after they retained their 'good' rating.

The Care Quality Comissions gave St George's Nursing Home, in Avenue Road, Witham, the rating following its latest inspection.

The home, which provides care to 40 residents, was also rated good in its previous inspection back in July 2017.

After their latest visit in October, inspectors rated the home good in all areas apart from the caring nature of the service, which was awarded the top rating of outstanding.

Particular praise was given to staff who had been described as "marvellous" and "outstanding" by residents and their families.

The home was credited for giving residents as much choice as possible and giving them controll over their own lives.

Following the publication of the inspector's report last week, care home director Claire Pniok said: "We're absolutely thrilled to bits with the report.

"We know how caring and compassionate our staff are so its is great to see that recognised by the inspectors.

"It is so hard to get an outstanding rating and there were some really lovely comments in the report so everyone is very happy.
