A TRIBUTE to one of Britain’s most popular rock bands is heading to Braintree next weekend.

Noasis is set to perform at Bocking Arts Theatre, in Bocking End, on Saturday, November 23, and tickets for the band’s exciting show are selling fast.

Set up as a tribute to 90s rock legends Oasis, the five-man act will be recreating some of their idols’ classic hits such as Wonderwall, Don’t Look Back in Anger and Champagne Supernova.

Noasis is already a well-known tribute act and has been a big hit during past appearances at Bocking Arts Theatre.

The band has performed live on radio breakfast shows and in front of 80,000 people at Wembley Stadium ahead of a rugby match.

They are also regular performers at the Alexandra Palace annual fireworks display and popular Isle of Wight Festival.

Eastenders fans will also recognise them from a Christmas episode where they performed six Oasis hits in the world famous Queen Vic pub.

Their performance during the episode was said to be so good, many watchers mistook them for the real thing.

Oasis themselves formed in Manchester in 1991 and developed from an earlier group called The Rain.

They went on to have eight UK number one singles and eight UK number one albums.

In total, the band has sold more than 75 million records worldwide and also hold a number of Guinness World Records, including Longest Top 10 UK Chart run by a group after an unprecedented run of 22 Top 10 hits.

Oasis’ long run at the top was infamously ended in 2009 when core members and brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher had a bust up which ended with the latter splitting from the group to forge his own band.

The popular tribute is said to be one of the closest things to Oasis and will give its audience an evening to remember.

Tickets for Saturday’s show cost £10 in advance but include a £1 booking fee.

The gig gets underway at 7pm and is only appropriate for those aged 18 and over.
