Complaints against the developer of a new 118 home estate are being investigated.

Braintree Council has confirmed it is looking into several complaints relating to Bellway Homes estate off Mill Lane, Cressing.

The complaints, which have been submitted by residents, relate to the hours workmen have been operating on site and the amount of a hedgerow which was culled by the homebuilder.

John Lawton, chairman of Cressing Parish Council, said concern amongst residents has been high.

He added: "The parish council was getting quite a lot of complaints from residents saying Bellway has cut away more of the hedge than they should have done.

"There have also been complaints about them working outside of the allotted hours.

"I have been quite pleased with the reaction from Braintree Council so far - they have visited the site and had conversations with Bellway."

A Braintree Council spokesman confirmed an investigation was ongoing.

She added: "We are currently in discussions with the developer to seek a resolution.”

Bellway Homes did not respond to The Times' requests for comment.
