The news sparked lots of debate with some chicken lovers rejoicing at the news while others questioning why the town needs a third restaurant.
Here is what you had to say about it on the Gazette's Facebook page.
Helen Scott: This is so awful for the people that live along that road, Especially the house closest and do we really need more fast food to make the nation fat??
Jody Wade: Just need a drive threw burger king now- Colchester almost up to date, still well behind Chelmsford and Ipswich
Kerry Rowley: This is terrible news! as if Ipswich road and Ardleigh interchange isn’t bad enough during rush hours!
Karl Bowen: Great just what one of the busiest roads needs. Why can't they put the entrance/exit in the industrial estate
Shelly Carter: Yay now I don’t have to drive all the way to tollgate
Kate Riseborough: What a waste of land surely there is something we need more than more fast food joints
Sandra Downer: So much for the fight against obesity and all the litter
Debra-Leigh Parkinson: Great more fast food packaging blowing around the roads!!!
Max Sheen: Should've expanded the hotel!
Ali Shellum: Lets hope its layout is better than the one at Stanway. The queues were massive and slow moving. Haven’t been back since.
Sean Frisby: Just what we need thank god i don’t live near it that will drop the house prices
Daniel Thomas: Turning this country into America, more obesity less people knowing how to cook....
