AMATEUR photographers are being asked to capture this year’s Colchester Carnival.

A competition is being ran by carnival organisers, Colchester Round Table and Colchester Ladies Circle, in partnership with Signals Media Arts Centre.

Amanda Isom, carnival organiser, said they were looking for photographs which showed the carnival from a different angle, the fun, quirky, strange or beautiful.

She said: “Show us something new or different. We want to see images that capture the mood, excitement and colour of the day.”

Submissions are being accepted in three age categories – 11 and under, 12 to 15 and 16 and over.

The winning photos from each category will be published in the Gazette. Entries must be digitally uploaded to photo site, Flickr by 11.30pm on July 8.

Individuals can submit a maximum of three images.

All photographs will be judged by representatives from Signals, Colchester Carnival and Gazette.
