COLCHESTER’S Concorde Singers return with songs from the silver screen.

That is the title of the troupe’s latest concert, which takes place at St Stephen’s Church Hall, in Canterbury Road, Colchester, tonight.

The choral group have been singing since 1976, when they were sponsored by the East of England Co-operative Society as a mixed choir.

Now an all-female group, they continue to perform all over the area, with a repertoire which includes anything from Bach to boogie woogie; Gilbert and Sullivan to West End numbers and plenty in between.

The choir are bringing a bit of Hollywood glitz to their annual summer concert this weekend.

Songs from the Silver Screen features music from the movies from the Thirties to the present.

Today's concert at the church hall starts at 7.30pm. Admission is priced £7 for adults and £4 for under 14s, available on the door on the night.
