Crooks have stolen jewellery worth a three-figure sum from a Colchester home.
A house in Exeter Drive was targeted at around 4pm yesterday.
Investigating officer PC Spencer Keeble said: "This break-in happened in daylight and at a time when there would have been plenty of cars or pedestrians passing in Exeter Drive or nearby Guildford Road.
"We want to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious in the street at the time, especially if they saw someone trying to get round to the back of properties or running down the street.”
Anyone with information should contact PC Keeble at Colchester police station on 101.
