A BUSINESS networking event for Colchester launches next week.

Quality Square are holding business breakfasts on the fourth Wednesday of each month, with the first on Wednesday (May 23).

Professor David Crawford, senior lecturer at the Essex University Business School, will speak at the inaugral meeting about the potential impact of Colchester having a Business Improvement District, and the implications of the Portas report.

Delegates will then be invited to debate issues raised, before networking.

Steve Green from Green Square has organised the new venture along with Quality Solicitors Fisher Jones & Greenwood.

Mr Green said: “We wanted to make this a quality event, which is why we have chosen Mimosa and one quality speaker, leaving delegates plenty of time to network.

“We are not political but want to raise issues, such as the BID, and open them up for debate.”

  • The event is at Mimosa, The Crescent, Severall’s Business Park, on Wednesday May 23 between 7.30-9.30am. Entry costs £20 in advance or £22.50 on the door, and includes a full English breakfast. A vegetarian option is available.
