THREE men have been bailed by police after being arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances behind a knife attack in Harwich.

James Johnson, 20, is fighting for his life in a London hospital after being stabbed in the head.

The attack happened at 2am in Mill Lane, Dovercourt as he walked home from his parents' house.

The suspects, who are all from Harwich, are aged 22, 23, and 34-years-old.

They were arrested on Sunday, questioned on Monday and bailed today.

Police are still hunting the handle of the knife used in the attack.

The blade was left embedded in Mr Johnson's skulls.
