FLOODING has forced Brightlingsea carnival organisers to cancel its main fundraising event.
Fields booked for a giant bootsale in Promenade Way were left waterlogged after Tuesdays torrential downpour.
Organisers checked the surface yesterday **Tuesday** and confirmed it will not be dry in time for Monday’s event.
Members of the Brightlingsea Carnival Association said the cancellation, their second in recent months, has put a major dent in their fundraising bid.
They are now looking for an alternative site and will be hosting more fundraisers to try and make up the defecit.
The next will be a cake sale on Brightlingsea High Street on Saturday.
