THE father of a man stabbed 13 times in Fordham Heath has appealed for people to come forward with information about the attack.

His son, aged 23, suffered serious injuries when he was attacked with scissors on Wed-nesday night, in Porters Lane.

He spent several hours in the critical care unit at Colchester General Hospital, but was later transferred to a general ward.

The victim’s dad, who has asked not to be named to protect his son’s identity, said: “They stabbed my son 13 times and beat him black and blue, but he has fought hard.

“He has made a remarkable recovery, but it was a savage attack.

“Somebody will know something and I want them to come forward, but the worry is people will not want to for fear.”

The Fordham Heath family were first informed of the attack when their second son received a call telling him his brother had been stabbed.

A man from London, 32, was arrested after the incident and has been bailed without charge until June.

Essex Police have joined the victim’s dad in calling for witnesses and information.

A spokesman said: “The investigation is ongoing and we are investigating all avenues and possibilities.

“We would encourage anyone with information to come forward.”

Police were called to the scene on Wednesday at 8pm.

Anyone with any information about the attack can call the serious crime team at Colchester on 101, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
