NEW ACTION is being taken at Mistley’s controversial quay.
Tendring Council has issued an immediate Article 4 (1) direction for the land, which will include public consultation over what should be allowed at the site.
The Direction came into force on April 27 when a notice was posted on an existing fence and will remain in force until October 27, 2012.
It means planning permission is needed for works including the erection, construction, maintenance, improvement or alteration of a gate, fence, wall or any other means of enclosing the land.
Under the Direction consultation will begin on May 4 and run until May 25.
The council added that the aim of the direction is to gain control over works which could have a negative effect on the character of the Conservation Area.
