A MAN was beaten up and robbed in Colchester.

The 26-year-old was walking along an alleyway from Blackthorn Avenue to Conifer Close in Greenstead when two youths approached him and asked for his phone.

After telling them no he was kicked in the face and head.

His mobile phone was also stolen.

The attack happened at 9.25pm on Thursday, April 19.
