POLICE are continuing to investigate the case of the stolen bus and council buggy.
Drunken joyriders broke into Colchester’s Castle Park causing £7,000 damage by smashing through four sets of gates and destroying a gardening buggy and the barn it was stored in.
They then drove and abandoned it in Priory Street before switching to a far bigger vehicle and taking a joy ride in a bus.
The First Bus was taken from the temporary bus station and smashed into railings on Queen Street in the early hours of January 29 before being stopped by police.
An 18-year-old man from Colchester was later arrested and bailed on suspicion of a number of offences including drink driving and bailed until today.
A spokesman for Essex Police confirmed his bail has now been extended until next month while inquiries continue.
