HOME owners are living in fear after a knife was stabbed through their front door.

Two men shouted threats and kicked the front door of a home on Wolseley Avenue, Jaywick, in the early hours of this morning (February 4).

The victims were asleep when the attack began.

They went downstairs to see what was happening.

One of the men put a knife through the door before making off in an open backed pick-up style transit van.

The occupiers were shocked and say they have no idea why the attack happened.

No one was hurt in the incident.

Det Con Dan Jeffries, who is investigating, said: "Police have made house to house enquiries this morning but we want to hear from anyone who was in the area just before 3am or knows the current location of the open backed transit."

The men are described as having local accents, but were not seen by the victim. Anyone who can help is urged to contact the serious crime team at Clacton on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
