A ROCK STAR legend has thrown his support behind a community group campaigning to take over Tymperleys museum.

Queen guitarist, Brian May, has sent a message backing campaigners who want to run the 15th century building.

One suggestion is to run the facility as a museum dedicated to the work of scientist William Gilberd, who lived at the site.

On hearing the plan Mr May, 64, who is also a trained astrophysicist, wrote to campaigner Wendy Bailey with words of support.

His e-mail reads: “Good luck with this project.

“I hope you will win!”
